Board-certified in orthopaedic surgery, Dr. Fein specializes in knee treatment, particularly the repair/reconstruction of ligament injuries and cartilage repair and reconstruction. He has extensive experience working with athletes of all levels and sports, from short track speed skaters to principal dancers with the New York City Ballet. He served on the medical staff of the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City.
Dr. Fein grew up in Rockland County, NY. He came to the capital district to attend Union College, where he graduated magna cum laude with a degree in bio-engineering. After receiving his MD from New York Medical College, he completed a residency program in Orthopedic Surgery at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He stayed on at the Downstate Orthopedic training program as an attending surgeon at the Kings County Hospital and the Brooklyn VA Medical Center.
During his fellowship training in Sports Medicine at the New York University Medical Center, he worked with athletes, including the New York Islanders hockey club and principal dancers with the New York City Ballet. He has been in private practice in Saratoga Springs, New York since 1988, caring for athletes at all levels. He has extensive experience working with short track speed skaters and served as a physician at the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic Games.
Dr. Fein has specialized in the treatment of knees, especially repair / reconstuction of ligament injuries and cartilage repair and reconstuction. He has been a leader in utilizing new, computer technologies and patient specific instumentation in both partial and total knee replacements.
