About Dr. Goldstock
Dr. Goldstock is board-certified in orthopedic surgery. He stays busy with general orthopedics while specializing in care of the hand and upper extremity, including shoulder arthroscopy, revision and reconstruction of the shoulder and reverse total shoulder replacement.
Dr. Leonard Goldstock, a Schenectady native, began practicing with Northeast Orthopedics in July of 1997. He had previously practiced with Roanoke Orthopedic Center in Roanoke, Virginia. Dr. Goldstock, a Cornell graduate, earned his M.D. from Albany Medical College and received his orthopedic residency training at Albany Medical Center Hospital. He completed Fellowship training in hand and upper extremity surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
Dr. Goldstock specializes in surgery of the hand and upper extremity, but also maintains a busy practice in general orthopedics. Other areas of specialization include:

He is an active member of the medical educational community. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He held the role of Chief of Orthopedics at Seton Health System/St. Mary’s Hospital in Troy from April, 2001 through December, 2003.
Dr. Goldstock has served as the Chairman of the Board of the Executive Woods Ambulatory Surgery Center. He also served as President of Northeast Orthopedics and OrthoNY.
In 2025, Dr. Goldstock was recognized on Newsweek’s list of America’s Leading Doctors for Shoulder Surgery.
