About Dr. Gainor
Dr. Jonathan Gainor was born and raised in the Capital Region. He attended Christian Brothers Academy for high school, earned a Bachelor of Science at Union College in Schenectady, and went on to a master’s degree in Physiology at Albany Medical College Graduate School. He completed Medical School at Albany Medical College before beginning his Residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Albany Medical Center. After Residency, he went on to a fellowship at the Anderson Clinic in Alexandria, Virginia where he had extensive exposure to joint replacement of the hips and knees including minimally invasive techniques, anterior approach to the hip, and tissue guided surgery.
After Fellowship, Dr. Gainor joined OrthoNY at their Saratoga locations in August 2010 and became a partner in the practice January 2013. He is on staff at Saratoga Hospital and has privileges at Glens Falls Hospital. He is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery and belongs to the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
His areas of interest include total knee and hip replacements, complex revision and reconstruction of the hip and knees. Beyond his surgical expertise Dr. Gainor utilizes accelerated rehabilitation and physical therapy for safe and efficient recovery after surgery as well as comprehensive pain management strategies during the recovery period.
