Michele Brinkman assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer in July 2022 after serving as Interim CEO since June of 2020. In this capacity, she also remains the practice’s COO, a position she has held since 2017. Michele has been responsible for daily oversight of the thirteen OrthoNY locations and more than 500 employees, including over 40 physicians. When she was named Interim CEO, she was leading OrthoNY’s emergency plan in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Michele joined Northeast Orthopedics in 2012 to manage human resources as the group prepared to merge with Orthopaedic Associates of Saratoga. Upon the formation of OrthoNY on January 1, 2013, she was appointed Director of Human Resources. For the following five years, Michele enhanced employee relations, strengthened recruitment and retention efforts, and provided benefits administration for the growing staff.
Prior to her work at OrthoNY, Michele was the Human Resources Manager for Cascades Tissue Group in Waterford, NY. Her experience includes similar positions at Merak North America, where she also served as Facilities Operations Manager, NU Horizons Electronics Group and BSI of New York.
Michele received a Bachelor of Arts in English from SUNY Cortland and is currently pursuing her MBA in Healthcare through Clarkson Graduate School. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and serves on the St. Peter’s Hospital Foundation Associate Board, as well as the boards of the Capital Region Arthritis Foundation and NYS Bones.
