Prior to his current position as CEO of OrthoNY, Alan Okun led Northeast Orthopaedics for 13 years. He holds more than 37 years of experience in healthcare administration, including executive positions at Albany Memorial Hospital/Northeast Health System, University of Cincinnati Hospital and Meriden Wallingford Hospital in Meriden, Connecticut.

Okun's extensive background also includes administration for Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, Connecticut, and St. Mary's General Hospital in Lewiston, Maine. Since 1992, he has held the professional designation as a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Administrators. Okun is a member of the American Association of Orthopaedic Executives and the American College of Healthcare Executives Regional Advisory Committee. For the past two years, he has also served as the president of the Northeast Chapter of the Medical Group Management Association.

Okun graduated from the University of Massachusetts (Amherst) and earned a Masters in Hospital Administration from St. Louis University in Missouri. He and his wife, Karen Tassey, have three children.
